2012 "Last" Canadian Penny Folder with Penny Roll

E-mail this product to a friend

After more than 150 years, Canada struck its last Penny coin in 2012.

• On May 4, 2012, the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg, Manitoba, struck Canada’s last Penny. The Penny cost more than its face value to produce, so the elimination of the Penny was a cost-saving move.
• These coins are identical to those displayed at the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada in Ottawa
• Canada’s first Penny was made  in 1858 during the reign of Queen Victoria.
• The Folder includes two 2012 Pennies – one to show the obverse design of Queen Elizabeth II and one to show the reverse design of maple leaves (the symbol of Canada).  Both coins are protected in order to preserve their Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Folder features the story of the Penny and the last 2012 coin.
• Also included is a full roll of 50 2012 Pennies.  The roll is a great way to preserve the historic last coin, while at the same time being able to show the Folder to friends and family.
• This is a rare opportunity to own a nation’s last coin!
