Own a silver dollar from one of the most famous coin hoards in history with this Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar. You receive one coin - sealed in its original US government holder - in MS-62 brilliant uncirculated condition.
Morgan Silver Dollars were only minted from 1878 - 1904 and then again in 1921. They're the largest coins ever made by the U.S. Government for general circulation.  But this coin is even more special since it was minted in Carson City - operable from 1878 to 1893 - with the silver from the nearby Comstock Lode - America's richest silver discovery. Morgans minted here account for only 2% of the total silver dollars struck overall, making them among the rarest.
This hoard of Morgans laid in a government vault until 1971 when sacks full of long-forgotten silver dollars minted in Carson City were discovered. They made the decision then to encapsulate each coin in a special tamper-proof plastic holder to preserve its brilliant uncirculated condition, and then sell them to collectors. These coins have been graded and certified without having had to remove them from their original US government holders - the first time possible. They come to you in a custom-fitted display box.
